One of the most important aspects of maintaining the beauty of a piece of jewelry over its lifetime is the amount of care put into its preservation. Of course when you are given a piece, it’s so easy to fall in love with it and never want to take it off.
Throughout your everyday life, your jewelry (especially rings) will likely take some wear and tear. We highly recommend that, depending on the material used for your ring, you remove your ring while performing any strenuous work -this may include exercising, working on your home or other heavy labor. Blows to the ring may bend its prongs or the ring itself, and could even chip your diamond. Although diamond is known as the hardest material on earth, it still runs the risk of being chipped if it is hit just right. It is also suggested to not wear your ring while sleeping - due to the prongs potentially catching on the mattress fibers and either tearing the mattress or pulling a prong off. It is important to note that even taking your ring off during sleep or strenuous work/activities, your prongs can and will wear down and become thinner throughout time as long as you wear it. It’s only natural!
To ensure the longevity of your jewels, it’s best to store them in a jewelry box or somewhere that has nothing to scratch your item or wear down the metal and its prongs.

Your insurance on any one of our products is determined by an appraisal - an insurance claim by the company determining the worth of the item in today’s market (which fluctuates depending on the given price of gold/gemstones). We typically recommend updating your appraisals every 3-5 years.
