Tips & Tricks

What to Expect

Buying jewelry can sometimes be overwhelming, even for the most knowledgeable consumer. The experts at Schnack’s are here to help you along the way. Whether you are buying a ring from our in-store selection or building a ring, there are some details you should pay attention to. To begin with, observe the thickness of the ring, the metal being used and the way the side and center stones are set. We take the size of the stones used into consideration when making rings to ensure the stones are secure and protected. And of course we encourage you to bring in your ring to get it inspected and cleaned by our staff and jeweler! Also, don’t be afraid to ask to see the diamond or ring in artificial light and natural light. Seeing the stone under both types of lights will allow you to observe the true beauty of the diamond.

Don’t Forget

We at Schnack’s Fine Jewelry are here for you! Ask as many questions as you need to ensure you are comfortable with your purchase. We will examine your ring when it is set and finished to ensure the craftsmanship is up to our high standards and encourage you to examine it as well. Once you’ve proposed, have your fiance try the ring on when their hands are both hot and cold to test if the ring still fits properly. As your fiance continues to wear their ring, remember it is common to need repairs along the way. Check out our repair education guide and see more information.
