Accurate insurance appraisals are important because if your jewelry is ever lost, stolen or damaged, your insurance company will refer to the appraisal document to settle the claim. While these items are priceless to you, it’s important to remember that the value of precious metals and gems that comprise your fine jewelry is constantly changing due to market conditions. An outdated appraisal will likely result in you being under-insured, and that could cost you thousands. We recommend updating your appraisals every three to five years. 

Even if your jewelry didn’t come from Schnack’s, we will gladly evaluate your pieces! Typically, pieces not from Schnack’s will take 5-10 business days to evaluate accurately. Our expert appraisers do not remove any stones, so carat weights will be estimated, and colored stones will be tested for their refractive index to determine what type of gemstone they are.
